What Faith Creates
“We Don’t Live by Sight, But by Faith”— Inspired by 2 Corinthians 5:7
“For we live by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7 (NIV)
In a world full of uncertainties, it’s tempting to rely only on what we see, control, or understand. But faith invites us into something deeper — a trust beyond evidence, a hope beyond fear, and a light that often comes before the dawn.
This poem is a personal reflection on why we need faith — not only in a religious sense, but as a daily anchor, an emotional compass, and a source of quiet power. Faith costs nothing, yet gives everything. May these words speak to that truth.
What Faith Creates
What is this thing they call belief,
A quiet light, a soul’s relief?
It doesn’t shout, it doesn’t shove,
It whispers soft—a hand, a hug.
Why do I need a faith, you ask?
Not to hide, or wear a mask—
But to walk through life with steadier breath,
To find some peace in pain or death.
Faith builds no walls, but opens doors,
It lifts you off the tired floors
Of doubt, despair, and fear and lack—
It keeps your weary spirit back
From sinking in the storms you face—
It wraps you in a quiet grace.
It doesn’t mean you won’t feel pain,
But you’ll walk softer through the rain.
It gives you courage to forgive,
To love, to hope, to dream, to live.
It doesn’t always shout “divine,”
It lives in moments, small and fine—
The friend who stays, the breath you take,
The strength you find before you break.
What does it change?
It changes you.
The way you speak, the way you do.
You greet the world with softer eyes,
You lift your gaze, you start to rise.
You spend with heart, you work with trust,
You trade your fear for what is just.
Your daily moods don’t rule your soul,
Because faith says, “This pain’s not whole.”
You start to see in every loss
A lesson, not just heavy cost.
And yes—sometimes, it brings you gold,
Not always wealth, but courage bold.
For those who dream, and dare to try,
Are often those who trust the sky.
You build a business with a spark,
You write your book, you light the dark.
You speak your truth, though fear says “hide,”
Because you know there’s more inside.
Faith isn’t priced—it’s freely given.
No cost to trust, no toll for vision.
No cost for having faith. No loss to believe.
It plants the seeds you never see—
And waters them silently.
So if you ask what faith can do—
It can reshape the whole of you.
Not with noise, but with relief—
A quiet power. A gentle belief
